In the second quarter of 2024, the social networking landscape in Turkey saw significant activity among the top five apps: WhatsApp Messenger, Telegram Messenger, Facebook, OmeTV – Video Chat Alternative, and Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out. Here’s a closer look at their performance.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a robust presence with downloads fluctuating between 182K and 330K over the quarter. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 52M to 53M.

Telegram Messenger saw a notable increase in both downloads and revenue. Downloads surged from 158K in early April to an impressive 486K by the end of June. Revenue followed an upward trend, reaching approximately $44.8K in the final week of June. Weekly active users also increased, peaking at around 9.4M.

Facebook experienced consistent engagement, with weekly active users rising from 31M to 33M. Downloads remained steady, fluctuating between 151K and 196K. Revenue showed a gradual increase, culminating at $12.3K in the last week of June.

OmeTV – Video Chat Alternative displayed steady growth in both downloads and revenue. Downloads ranged from 57K to 91K, while revenue increased from $9K to $13.3K. Weekly active users hovered around 216K to 243K throughout the quarter.
